Welcome
Ochan Self-Help Alliance is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity registered in the state of Maryland (EIN/tax ID # 26-2342374). Donations are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law. This charity is operating on the ground in war-ravaged northern Uganda to support resettlement for an estimated 4,500 civilians in their original villages in Abako sub-County, Lira District. While the need for relief aid is great throughout the district, our focus is to support resettlement in one village at a time and to kel kuc pacu.*
Our goals for partnership in their resettlement and rehabilitation are four-fold ;
- help build environmentally friendly and more secure housing through community mobilization and teamwork between our organization and a local organization operating at the village level.
- provide health care to improve the quality of life, reduce mortality rates, and prevent disease.
- develop sustainable green commerce to achieve economic self-reliance within the next 3-5 years.
- mobilize community to support environmental conservation and reforestation in their culture-based agricultural practices.
Please read more about our projects, and help us achieve these goals in an environmentally balanced way with the people of Opac village who just need a little support to restore their lives, their health, their productivity.
